Position Description:

We are actively seeking an AWS Cloud Operations and Automation Lead who will work with customers to provide remote and onsite support and resolution for complex technical issues pertaining to AWS cloud deployments.

Candidate Experience and Qualifications:

  • 3+ Years working with AWS
  • 3+ Years direct customer support
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux including Red Hat, Centos, and Ubuntu is a must

Position Description:

We are actively seeking an AWS Cloud Architect to architect and deliver AWS-based infrastructure solutions for our Enterprise clients.

The candidate will be responsible for working across the customer lifecycle, from supporting the sales efforts as a key senior technical resource, to participating in and leading consulting engagements, including developing logical and implementation reference cloud architectures, defining cloud deployment strategies, to being the primary technical lead responsible for the configuration, implementation and adoption of AWS-based cloud infrastructure platforms.

The individual must have a strong operational delivery background in the information technology field with 7 – 10 years of experience, with hands-on expertise in designing, architecting, and engineering large-scale enterprise infrastructure systems, and experience in architecting and deploying cloud IaaS platforms.

The candidate should be considered a subject matter expert (SME) in the field of Cloud Computing. The role requires experience in Infrastructure Architecture as a Service (IaaS), and an understanding of SaaS and PaaS workloads.

The candidate must have a deep understanding of the AWS Cloud ecosystem, and preferably holds one or more AWS Certifications.

Experience in consulting service delivery and client management, and the ability to develop long-term client relationships at multiple levels of the organization is a must.

Specific Responsibilities:

Pre-Sales Support

During the sales support process, the candidate will be primarily responsible for: formulating and leading the presales technical support activity to prospective clients; partner with the Engagement Manager and Sales lead in technical pre-sales activities; qualify customer requirements; help size and scope the opportunities; identify tasks, customer responsibilities, assumptions and dependencies; and perform the technical estimating effort.

The candidate will be responsible for helping clients develop and implement AWS Cloud adoption strategies in line with their overall business drivers, and provide an understanding of how cloud computing solutions can enable businesses processes and facilitate new revenue opportunities for the client.

Candidate will also lead clients, in conjunction with the Engagement Manager and the delivery team, in helping to crystallize their business objectives, mapping them to a future vision, understanding their current architectures and technology culture, performing a gap analysis at a business, process and technology level, and defining, documenting and presenting the optimal architectures and solutions based on these findings.

The candidate must have the ability to craft targeted presentations and final deliverables for client engagements.

Service Delivery and Implementation

The candidate will be part of the technical leadership of the delivery team that will be responsible for architecting and implementing the AWS solution.

The candidate is required to have had prior hands-on experience with one or more of the following facets of infrastructure deployment: hardware configuration, hardware and database troubleshooting, high availability implementation, virtualization tuning, system performance tuning, backup and recovery, security configurations, network configuration, performance optimization and general system troubleshooting.

The resource will work with the Engagement Manager to provide timely status of delivery execution to all stakeholders; promptly inform management of issues; and ensure customer expectations are met/exceeded.

The candidate must be able to provide skills transfer to the client on the value and use of the cloud computing solution, and provide general guidance to technical team members.

Candidate Experience and Qualifications:

  • Enterprise Information Technology and Solutions delivery experience required. The candidate must have spent at least 7-10 years implementing, operationalizing and managing large-scale, long-term, enterprise-wide, complex information technology initiatives, at both an infrastructure and an application level, with AWS as a main focus in the last 3-5 years.
  • Minimum of 3 years of consulting experience, 5 preferred
  • Technical Skills:
    • Required – prior experience in:
      • Deep expertise in AWS technologies and the broad AWS ecosystem
      • Being subject matter expert and taking on a consultative role as it pertains to cloud adoption

  • Monitoring of the Infrastructure Change Management policies and procedures. Communicating between departments, vendors and partners as a central repository for information regarding production sites, Customer Support, Help Desk and Core Systems issues across the entire organization.
