Why would a business want to have a multi-cloud solution? If you’ve seen one cloud haven’t you seen them all? Not so!

Just like people, each cloud service has something a little different to offer. Combining the capabilities (such as AI, big data, etc.) from multiple cloud providers can allow an enterprise to get more useful information out of their data.

In this short video our CTO, Grant Kirkwood, points out how Unitas helped a major ridesharing company best utilize a multi-cloud solution to run more effectively and economically.

Multi-Cloud Solution Benefits

Full Transcript:

This well known ridesharing service was looking to get a competitive advantage over another well known ridesharing service in the market. They had a huge data set in one particular cloud service where they had their workload.

The data set, there’s millions of data points every day. So, it’s not just rides, but also passengers, where passengers are, drivers, where the drivers are located, the start and end points of rides but also the transit between those rides, when the driver is just getting to the next location.

Millions of data points collected, and the cloud service that they were using for their primary workload didn’t have some of the capabilities that they wanted to try and analyze that data and gain competitive insights. So, what they did was they came to Unitas Global and we built them a multi-cloud solution that enabled them to access those data sets from another cloud service. That cloud service had some different types of AI and machine learning capabilities that they were able to apply to the data sets, that gave them new insights into rider and driver and trip metrics that’s enabled them to optimize that network of riders and drivers, that’s made them more efficient and lowered their cost and given them a competitive advantage.
